My inner poet is thoughtful, mystical, and deeply present. He lives within me, unlocking the connectivity between disparate objects, opening portals to understandings and realizations unknown. He is abundant. There is no end to his flow of words or to the beat of his rhythm. He is indefinitely deep.

My inner poet is also challenged. He lives in a world that demands numbers, charts, inputs, outputs, and performance indicators. It wants him to write within the lines, but he’s wired to break them. His quest isn’t about facts and figures. His quest is to reach the Divine.

And what about you? What about us?

White-papers, technical specifications, and Tweets will enhance our minds and unlock the skillsets of a modern world.

But poetry sparks our hearts, sings songs of places with deep shadows, and describes in detail that which we cannot yet comprehend.

Life is not only a thesis paper, it’s a poem.

When we pursue the cold, hard facts and abandon poetry, it’s as though the little lights in the sky flicker away. While we can understand the stars, we forget how to marvel at their simple twinkles.

Can we not dive into the science of orbits, coordinates, and light-years while still feeling the romance of a night under a canopy of pearls?

The world needs more poets. The world needs your poet.

When you close your eyes and listen – what does your poet say to you? What do they whisper? Those ideas that seem not to have reason, yet make sense all the same – what are they?

Banal factoids are
No match for a haiku that
Shows more than it tells.

I imagine a world of aliveness, where the capability of prose meets the beauty of poetry. Armed with pens and leaves of paper, we can study the corners of our experiences, understand them, and relish them. Perhaps together, we can bathe the world in light.

Woah, Saalik. Man, this is quite powerful. I can't point my finger to any one line, and I guess that's the point. The power of your poetry sits underneath all the lines. Lovely.
